Fradiviel Rojas’s coffee made it to the final top 20 of the Best of Cauca auction. Buyers around the globe bid on the top 20, and we took Fradiviel’s micro-lot home; a washed sweet, blood orange, hazelnut, berry-like coffee with citric acidity.
The Best of Cauca is a competition initiated by Coffee for Peace. This movement stimulates people in Cauca to make a living through specialty coffee. Colombia is recovering from fifty-plus years of conflict, and coffee gives people an opportunity to leave violence and the production of illicit crops behind.
The auction is the movement’s flagship to reach thousands of coffee growers in Cauca. Want to know more about the Best of Cauca auction? Watch the video.
