Trabocca is a green (unroasted) coffee trading company. As such we source coffee from all over the world, and advise roasters on the coffee they need. We aim to provide high quality, traceable coffees to roasters worldwide. And are dedicated to improving the whole supply chain by establishing close relationships between producers and roasters.

The Quality Department of Trabocca has the purpose of reducing risk, driving customer confidence, and working on continuous improvement, in order to deliver the needed products to the roaster, according to product specifications and within set regulations. The department consists of three pillars: Food Safety, Product Quality and Sample Administration.

We are looking for an intern (current Bachelor student of food safety related field), on a full-time basis for the Food Safety pillar. During your internship you will focus on daily executive food safety tasks.

Additionally you will work on a project, focusing on how Trabocca can improve their Food Safety systems or product quality systems. Such as updating our HACCP system, making a risk analysis, creating an online producer questionnaire, doing research into new pesticide risks, or updating our sensory analysis scoresheet. It depends on what is on the task list at the moment.

Lastly, as part of the overall Quality team, we ask you to help out during the daily tasks, such as helping set up our daily sensory evaluation, keeping the shared inbox as empty as possible, and sending samples to roasters.

Your responsibilities and objectives:

  • Daily operational food safety tasks
  • Assist with administration and sending of incoming samples if needed
  • Assist with setting up and clearing daily sensory analysis if needed
  • Working on at least 1 project to improve a Trabocca Food Safety system or Product Quality Control System

 

Job requirements

  • Currently studying for a Bachelor degree in a food related field, e.g. Nutrition and Health
  • Knowledge of food safety certifications, organic and social certifications and risk analyses are a huge plus
  • Ability to solve problems, prioritizing, meeting deadlines and working with minimal direction
  • We love coffee, and we love if you love it too
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English language (in writing and verbally)
  • Proficiency with MS Office software, including excel
  • Detail-oriented skills, precise working skills, does not mind repetitious work.
